Professional pipe connection for sanitary and industrial installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling with external thread enables a leak-proof connection between press-fit pipe systems and threaded installation components. This makes it suitable for both expanding existing water networks and creating new installation segments that require connection to threaded fittings.

Construction and materials

The coupling body is made of CrNiMo 1.4401 stainless steel in accordance with EN 10088 - the same grade used in professional industrial and marine installations. A wall thickness of 1,5 mm with an outer diameter of 42 mm ensures high mechanical strength while maintaining a reasonable mass for the entire component.

The first connection is a press sleeve with an M-profile - compatible with standard Geberit Mapress crimping jaws. The sleeve length is 30 mm, providing stable support on the pipe just before the crimp.

The second connection is a BSPT-R tapered external thread with a diameter of 1½ inches, also made of stainless steel. The tapered thread does not require additional seals - the seal is formed directly on the thread during tightening.

The set includes a black seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) resistant to temperatures up to 120°C, allowing for use in heating and steam installations.

Press indicator and principle of operation

The coupling is equipped with the characteristic Mapress system press indicator - a visible element informing of a correctly executed connection using crimping jaws.

A key feature of the system: before crimping, the connection remains unsealed. Only after correct tightening with the jaws is a permanent, leak-proof connection formed - this eliminates the risk of accidental leakage during assembly and pressure testing.

The sleeve is capped with a transparent protective cover to protect the interior from contamination before installation.

Due to the high corrosion resistance of the 1.4401 grade, it is also suitable for rainwater with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction (pH >6,0).
