Press connection system for demanding installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling is an element of a piping system designed for fast and secure pipe connection using the press method. The product is made of CrNiMo stainless steel according to the DIN EN 10088 standard - grade 1.4401 (AISI 316) ensures corrosion resistance even in difficult operating conditions, which will be appreciated by installers working on both industrial projects and typical sanitary fittings.

The design includes a press sleeve on one side and a tapered external BSPT-R thread according to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 on the other. This combination allows for the connection of a Mapress system pipe with an outer diameter of 54 mm (DN 50) to a threaded element of size 2 inches. The total length of the body is 89 mm, with the connection part length on the press side being 35 mm and on the thread side being 54 mm. The wall thickness at the coupling is 1.5 mm.

Materials and workmanship

The 316 stainless steel body remains in a raw state - without additional surface treatment - which is a standard solution for this type of installation fitting. The surface, not covered by a protective layer, performs well in most typical applications where connection tightness and the chemical resistance of the material are the primary concerns.

The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) is black in color and ensures a durable seal after pressing. The use of this elastomer guarantees resistance to aging and contact with various media - from drinking water to industrial solutions.

The product is covered by the ECHA SCIP designation and appears on the positive UBA list for materials in contact with drinking water, confirming its safety in food-grade installations.

Press technology and auxiliary functions

The Geberit Mapress system utilizes the „unverpresst undicht" (unpressed and leaking) characteristic - meaning leakage before correct pressing. If the press is not performed correctly, the connection will leak, eliminating the risk of a hidden installation error. This feature significantly facilitates quality control on the construction site.

Additionally, the press sleeve is equipped with a transparent protective collar serving as an indicator of correct pipe seating before pressing. The installer can see through it whether the pipe has been inserted to the correct depth.

• Heating - heating circuits with water or glycol,
• District heating - district heating networks up to a temperature of 120 °C,
• Saturated steam - up to 120 °C,
