Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducer with socket end: d=22mm, d1=18mm 32306
Professional connection of pipes with different diameters
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducing reducer enables a smooth transition between pipes with diameters of 22 mm and 18 mm in installations made using the Mapress system. This is a reducer type element - one side is finished with a press socket for connection to a pressed system pipe with a nominal diameter of DN20, while the other side features a plain end, which is inserted directly into a pipe with a smaller cross-section of DN15.
The design utilizes the M profile, which means compatibility with standard Geberit Mapress press jaws - the installer does not need additional tools or adapters.
Material and resistance to operating conditions
The reducer body is made of 316 stainless steel (grade 1.4401 / CrNiMo) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy compliant with the DIN EN 10088 standard. It is characterized by increased resistance to hydrogen corrosion and the action of chlorides, making it suitable for installations exposed to moisture and aggressive environments.
The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, allowing for use in typical installations:
- water supply (drinking water),
- central heating,
- sprinkler systems,
- industrial applications.
The seal made of CIIR (chlorobutadiene rubber) ensures a durable and leak-proof connection, factory-installed - it does not need to be mounted separately before pressing.
Protection against installation errors
The reducer has an important systemic feature: it remains leaky in the unpressed state. This allows the installer to immediately see that the connection has not been performed correctly - without the need to conduct pressure tests or visual inspections of every point. This eliminates the risk of hidden leaks and complaints.
The press socket is equipped with a transparent protective cap, which protects the inside of the socket from contamination during transport and storage on the construction site.
Applications - from residential buildings to industrial facilities
Due to its high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, 316 steel is the preferred material where conditions are demanding:
- industrial halls - technological and process installations,
- marine facilities - resistance to salt water and moisture,
- sprinkler systems - reliability and durability required,
- public utility buildings - drinking water and central heating circulation.
The reducer is a Geberit Mapress system element - it functions as part of a closed system of pipes and fittings designed to work together. For the installer, this means certainty of dimensional fit and repeatability of parameters at every stage of the investment.
Geometric parameters: total length 57 mm, press socket length 25 mm, plain end length 32 mm. Wall thickness at the socket is 1.2 mm, and at the plain end is 1 mm.
