Precise transition between diameters in pressure installations

The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl reducer enables a smooth connection between pipes of different diameters in installation systems based on press fittings. This element is an essential link in water, heating, and industrial installations where a transition from a larger cross-section to a smaller one is required - in this case, precisely from DN25 (28 mm) to DN15 (18 mm).

The construction is made of 1.4401 (AISI 316) stainless steel - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy resistant to drinking water corrosion and industrial conditions. High tensile strength allows for safe operation in demanding pressure applications.

Connections and M press profile

The main side of the reducer is equipped with a press coupling with an outer diameter of 28 mm and a total length of 27 mm, of which 20 mm is the working part intended for compression by the press jaw. The wall thickness in this area is 1.2 mm, ensuring adequate connection stiffness during butt-end mounting.

The reducing side is a press end with a diameter of 18 mm, a length of 37 mm, and a working part of 20 mm. The wall thickness here is 1 mm. Both connections operate in the M press profile, which means compatibility with widely used Geberit M-type jaws and many tools from other manufacturers following the same standard.

The factory-installed gasket made of CIIR material (chlorobutadiene rubber) guarantees a leak-proof connection upon the very first press - without the need for additional sealing.

Operating parameters and usage conditions

The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C reaches 16 bar, allowing for wide application in both domestic installations (hot and cold water) and industrial pressure systems. The total length of the element is 64 mm, and the arc angle of 0° confirms a straight-line geometry - the reducer introduces no deviation in the medium flow direction.

The surface of both ends remains in a raw state (without additional anti-corrosion treatment), which is a standard solution for Mapress stainless steel systems - the passive chromium layer sufficiently protects the material from corrosion in neutral aqueous environments.

The element does not have an air vent or a drain valve - it is a pure reducer without service functions.

Standard and registration

The reducer is registered in the Austrian Building Legislation Register under number R-15.2.3-20-17012, confirming its compliance with European technical requirements for sanitary and heating installations. CrNiMo stainless steel according to the EN 10088 standard ensures the durability of connections for decades of operation - even under the variable pressure and temperature conditions characteristic of central heating or cooling installations.
