Precise transition between diameters in stainless steel installations

The Geberit Mapress reducer enables a smooth connection between pipes of different diameters within a single system. Model 32311 serves as an intermediate element between a DN 32 pipe (outer diameter 35 mm) and a smaller DN 15 pipe (outer diameter 18 mm). This type of transition is practically essential in almost every installation - wherever it is necessary to adjust the medium flow or connect sections made of pipes with different dimensions.

The design is concentric - the axes of both connections are parallel and coaxial, ensuring a symmetrical flow of the medium through the fitting and facilitating pipeline routing on straight sections.

Connections and press technology

The larger side (35 mm) is equipped with a compression socket with an M-jaw profile - a standard type for the Geberit Mapress system. The working length of this connection is 20 mm, ensuring a stable and leak-proof contact with the pipe. The wall thickness at this end is 1.5 mm.

The smaller side (18 mm) takes the form of an insertion end - the pipe is pushed directly into the fitting opening. The total length of this connection is 43 mm, and the working length is 20 mm. The wall thickness is 1 mm.

The factory-installed CIIR seal (chloroprene rubber) guarantees the tightness of the connection even before the pressing process - during assembly, the element remains leak-proof even with an unpressed connection. A transparent plastic protective cap is located in the sleeve to protect the seal from contamination during transport and storage.

The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, allowing for use in typical domestic and industrial installations.

Material and structural resistance

The fitting is made of 316 (1.4401) stainless steel - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy known for its high resistance to corrosion and aggressive media. Compared to 304 grade austenitic steel, the addition of molybdenum significantly improves resistance to chlorides and pitting corrosion - therefore, this grade is preferred where the medium contains mineral salts or the installation is exposed to moisture.

The product is characterized by high tensile strength, which translates to the durability of the connection even under mechanical loads occurring during operation.

The scope includes both sanitary installations in residential and public buildings, as well as industrial and marine solutions - anywhere where the reliability of connections made without welding or soldering is crucial.

The lack of need for thermal treatment during assembly eliminates the risk of material deformation and seal damage caused by high temperatures. The pressing process is performed with mechanical tools - quickly and repeatably, regardless of site conditions.
