Geberit Mapress stainless steel reducer with socket end: d=42mm, d1=18mm 32315
Press-connection system without soldering
The Geberit Mapress reducer enables a quick and secure transition between two pipe diameters - from 42 mm to 18 mm - without the need for welding or soldering. Press technology allows for a leak-proof connection to be made in a few seconds, significantly shortening the total installation time.
On the larger side (42 mm) there is a compression coupling with an M profile, adapted to the pressing jaws of the same system. The smaller side (18 mm) is an insertion end, allowing a smaller diameter pipe to be inserted without additional intermediate elements.
Thanks to the "unverpresst undicht" solution - meaning leak-proofness is verifiable even before pressing - the installer can immediately see if the connection has been correctly made. The Pressindikator in the form of a black CIIR seal protrudes through the hole in the press sleeve as long as both elements have not been joined together. Only a correctly performed pressing eliminates the gap and guarantees full tightness.
Material and working pressure
The body is made of 316 stainless steel (1.4401 according to DIN EN 10088) - a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy resistant to intergranular corrosion and the effects of chlorides. This makes the reducer suitable for both potable water installations and industrial environments with an increased risk of corrosion.
The maximum working pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 16 bar, allowing for use in typical domestic and industrial installations - from central heating to fire protection systems.
Scope of applications
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system is dedicated to a wide spectrum of media:
- Potable water - cold and hot domestic water installations
- Heating and DHW - central heating and water cooling systems (also with glycol addition)
- District heating - up to a temperature of 120°C
- Saturated steam - up to 120°C
- Sprinklers and sprayers - wet fire protection installations
- Rainwater - at pH > 6.0; also grey and black water at pH > 6.0
- Compressed air - oil cleanliness class 0-3; vacuum; inert gases (e.g., nitrogen); industrial gases (e.g., acetylene)
- Chemicals and technical fluids
- Process and treated waters
The scope includes residential and public utility construction, as well as industrial and marine installations.
Step-by-step installation
- Insert the 18 mm diameter pipe into the insertion end until it stops.
- Slide the press sleeve onto the coupling of the larger side.
- Position the pressing jaws perpendicular to the axis of the pipe.
- Perform the pressing - the CIIR seal will be pressed into the groove of the sleeve.
- Check for the absence of a protruding black seal ring as confirmation of a correct connection.
For easier transport, the coupling is factory-protected by a transparent protective ring placed on the press sleeve - it only needs to be removed immediately before installation.
The reducer with a total length of 80 mm fits among other Geberit Mapress DN40/DN15 system elements as a compact transition element for the expansion or modernization of existing stainless steel piping installations.
