Priority valve for booster sets – reliable protection and control

The RST50 IC priority valve is a key component of ZH-CRFF/WF type booster sets, ensuring correct operation and protection of the installation. This device, in conjunction with the FQS flow sensor, enables automatic switching between different water supply sources – e.g. from the water supply network to the booster tank.

Thanks to this, the system always delivers water at a constant pressure, regardless of current conditions.

This valve is particularly important in fire protection systems, where reliable operation is a top priority. Its construction based on a butterfly valve with ER+ electric actuator and a precise flow sensor guarantees a quick response and effective water flow control. The whole is controlled by the ZH-WF control unit, ensuring full integration with the booster system.

Construction and application

The RST50 IC valve consists of several key components: a shut-off butterfly valve, an electric actuator and a flow sensor. The butterfly valve made of GGG 40 cast iron, coated with a protective varnish, ensures durability and resistance to external factors. The FQS flow sensor, equipped with a three-segment impeller, precisely monitors water flow in pipes with a diameter of 1” to 3” and reacts to minimal flow.

The application of the valve is mainly limited to GRUNDFOS ZH-CRFF/WF type booster sets, however, it is worth remembering the specifics of installation and configuration. The valve should be ordered together with the booster set to ensure software compatibility. If the valve is purchased separately, appropriate software must be installed in the pump set control cabinet. The installation of the valve and flow sensor is the responsibility of the Customer.
