Coupling bridge 400 A HZ158
Phase coupling bridge HZ158 is a component that connects phases in distribution systems with HA and HI series load break switches. It is designed for use with low‑voltage equipment and a rated current of 400 A, and its construction allows safe and stable current flow between individual poles.
It has no neutral terminal – it operates only on phase conductors. It cannot be shortened or modified on site, which guarantees that electrical and insulation parameters remain in accordance with the standard. It is intended as a system part – it does not operate independently, but only in combination with load break switches of type HA357, HA457 or their equivalents in the 4P version.
Installation is simple: it is mounted directly on the terminals of the load break switch, without the need for additional tools or cables. It works with guards HZ035 and HZC205, which protect against accidental contact with live conductors – important when working in a switchgear cabinet where space is limited and safety is critical.
Compliant with PN-EN 60947-3:2009/A2:2015-11 – the standard for load break switches and connector kits. This is not merely a formality: it means the device meets requirements for insulation, heat resistance and short‑time overloads that are mandatory in commercial and industrial installations.
It is not intended for control or signalling – it has no auxiliary contacts. Its sole function is to connect phases so that current flows smoothly between two or more load break switches in a maneuvering circuit (e.g., when switching the power source). For the installer this means fewer cables, fewer connection points, and reduced risk of error during assembly.
For the end user this provides peace of mind: there are no “free” conductors between devices. The whole assembly is enclosed within the Hager system, reducing the risk of connection overheating and malfunction in the event of a failure.
Note: this bridge does not operate on its own. It must be installed as part of a complete system – for example, when switching the power source in an HI4xx system. Do not connect it to other types of load break switches than those listed in the manufacturer’s documentation.
