The 14x51 mm cylindrical fuse insert is a key component in electrical installations requiring protection against overloads and short circuits. Thanks to its ceramic body, the element ensures high thermal and mechanical resistance, which is particularly important when operating in harsh environmental conditions.

Application and operating characteristics

This fuse is intended for installations powered by alternating current (AC) with a rated voltage up to 690 V. Its primary function is to quickly disconnect the power supply in the event of a short circuit, while also providing effective protection against prolonged overloads. The gG characteristic indicates that the insert operates across the full current range – from starting current up to short-circuit current.

The device features a high rated short-circuit breaking capacity (Icn) of 80 kA, allowing it to safely interrupt a short-circuit current of this magnitude without risk of explosion or damage to adjacent installation components. The version with a rated current of 6 A is ideal for circuits with lower power consumption, such as LED lighting, controllers, or small auxiliary devices. During continuous operation at rated current, the insert generates power losses of 1.15 W – a low value that results in reduced heating of the element and lower energy consumption compared to older designs.

Mounting and compatibility

The insert is standardly compatible with CH-14 type fuse holders (14x51 mm size). This is one of the most popular formats used in industrial switchgear and domestic fuse boxes. The ceramic construction and parameters such as a rated voltage up to 690 V AC and a current of 6 A make this element suitable for a wide range of applications.

For the installer, this means simple mounting in existing systems without the need to replace the entire fuse holder – it is sufficient to replace the insert with a new one after the previous one has operated. For the end user, this guarantees safety: after the fuse operates, only the insert needs to be replaced with a new one (the package usually contains 10 pieces), restoring full functionality of the installation. It should be remembered that replacement must be performed only with the supply voltage switched off.
