Compensation cable AE(GI-SIL) 2x0.5 48215
Compensating leads – precision temperature measurement
Compensating lead AE(GI-SIL) 2x0.5 is an indispensable element in measurement systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability of temperature readings. It serves as an extension of the thermocouple to the measuring device, minimizing errors resulting from thermoelectric potential differences. The cable construction, with strands made of special alloys (Fe/Cu-Ni, Ni/Cr-Ni or Pt-Rh/Pt), guarantees compatibility with various types of thermocouples.
Construction and properties
This cable is characterized by a careful construction, adapted to demanding working conditions. The strands are made of stranded or solid wire, and the insulation is available in several variants – PVC, silicone, Teflon or fiberglass – allowing adaptation to specific application needs. A braided screen made of tinned steel wires (type SY) or copper (type CY) provides protection against electromagnetic interference. It is worth noting the wide operating temperature range: from -25°C to +200°C (continuous and momentary operation). The test voltage strand/strand and strand/screen is 500V, which confirms high insulation and safety of use. The resistance of the wires has been determined in accordance with DIN 43713 for various strand materials.
Applications and benefits
Compensating lead AE(GI-SIL) 2x0.5 is primarily used in temperature regulation and measurement technology. It is ideal for precise measurements in industry, laboratories and process monitoring systems. Using this cable provides:
- Measurement accuracy: thanks to matching the thermoelectric characteristics to the thermocouple.
- Reliability: solid construction and high-quality materials guarantee long-term operation.
- Flexibility: the ability to choose the insulation material allows adaptation of the cable to different working environments.
- Protection against interference: the screen effectively minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference on readings.
- Compliance with standards: meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding behavior in the event of a fire.
- Wide temperature range: possibility of operation in temperatures from -25°C to +200°C.
Additionally, the cable is characterized by a low weight – approximately 0.018 kg per meter – which facilitates assembly and installation.
