This flat Category 7 cable, catalog number 18048042, is an ideal solution for demanding network installations. The FLi-2YS(ST)(C)TH cable is designed for high-quality data transmission, while offering flexibility and safety. The construction with twisted copper cores, each shielded with aluminum foil, provides excellent protection against electromagnetic interference. An additional overall shield with a braid further minimizes the impact of external noise on the signal.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction, using polyethylene foam (PE) as insulation for the cores. The outer jacket is made of a special halogen-free thermoplastic LSHF mixture, which increases safety in the event of a fire – it limits the emission of toxic gases. Reinforcement in the form of steel carrying wires (2 x 0.18 mm) allows for free suspension of the cable, however, it should be remembered about the limitations regarding length and speed (maximum 50 meters suspension length and 4 m/s speed). The color coding of the wire pairs (wh/bu, wh/or, wh/bn, wh/gn) makes it easier to identify the cores during installation.

The cable complies with ISO/IEC 11801, EN-50173-1, EN-50288-4-2 and IEC 61156-6 standards. The electrical parameters of the wires are test voltage 700V and working voltage 1000V (Cat.7). Loop resistance is 250 Ω/km and mutual capacitance is 43 nF/km. Signal propagation speed is 79%.
