Construction and application

The N2XS2Y cable is characterized by an advanced construction that guarantees long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It is made of a multi-wire copper conductor, surrounded by an inner semiconducting layer. Next, there is insulation made of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), followed by an outer semiconducting layer bonded to a copper screen. The whole is protected by an outer polyethylene (PE) sheath. This construction provides excellent dielectric and mechanical properties.

The outer PE jacket provides resistance to stress during cable laying, however, it is not fire-resistant according to DIN EN 60332-1-2.
