High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This multi-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with insulation made of special silicone, is designed to operate in demanding industrial environments and beyond. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal solution where standard cables fail. This cable complies with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of multi-wire, stranded tinned copper conductors (class 5 according to PN-EN 60228). Each conductor is surrounded by flexible silicone insulation, available in various colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308 – up to 5 cores the colors are standard, above 5 cores – black with white numbering. The protective conductor (green-yellow) is available from 3 cores cross-section. The strands are twisted in parallel and surrounded by an outer silicone jacket in brick red color. This construction provides not only high flexibility but also resistance to chemical factors such as oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols, and many acids and alkalis.
This cable stands out with a wide range of operating temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). Additionally, it is halogen-free (according to VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2), which increases safety in case of fire – during combustion it leaves only SiO₂ insulation. The rated voltage is 300/500V, and the test voltage is 2000V.
