High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This multi-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with insulation made of special silicone, is designed for operation in demanding industrial environments and applications where standard cables fail. Compliant with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83, it offers exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures and ensures safe and reliable electrical connections.
Strength and flexibility in harsh conditions
The cable is characterized by a wide range of permissible operating temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C, and briefly up to +220°C. This property makes it an ideal solution for installations in power plants, foundries, steelworks, shipbuilding industry, cement plants and other facilities exposed to high and low temperatures. Additionally, the cable is flexible, which facilitates its installation and routing in tight spaces. However, it is important to remember the limited mechanical strength – this is a connection cable, not for applications requiring high resistance to physical damage.
Safety and compliance with standards
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable is halogen-free, which means that in the event of a fire, it releases a minimal amount of toxic gases. It meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding fire behavior and VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2 confirming its halogen-free properties. Protective conductors (in versions with a protective conductor) are marked in yellow-green according to DIN VDE 0293-308. The cable has a rated voltage U/Uo 300/500V and is designed to operate at a test voltage of 2000V and a breakdown voltage of at least 5000V.
- Temperature resistance: A wide range of operating temperatures (-60°C to +180°C, briefly up to +220°C) ensures reliable operation even in the most extreme conditions.
- Halogen-free: Minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire, increasing the safety of the installation and users.
- Flexibility: Facilitates the installation and routing of cables in tight spaces.
- Compliance with standards: Meets the stringent requirements of European and German standards (DIN VDE, IEC, EN).
- Core identification: Colored cores make it easier to identify and connect cables according to DIN VDE 0293-308.
- Chemical resistance: Exhibits resistance to many oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols and other chemicals (detailed information available in the technical documentation).
- Construction: Stranded copper conductor class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295), silicone insulation and outer silicone jacket ensure durability and connection reliability.
This cable is an excellent choice for professionals looking for a reliable solution for applications requiring high thermal resistance and safety.
