High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This multi-core HELUTHERM SiHF cable, with insulation made of special silicone, is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal choice for industrial and specialized applications. This cable complies with DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-83 / DIN EN 50525-2-83 standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability.
Construction and properties
The cable is constructed with multi-strand, twisted tinned copper conductors (class 5 according to PN-EN 60228), providing flexibility and ease of installation. Silicone rubber insulation ensures resistance to extreme temperatures – from -60°C to +180°C, and briefly up to +220°C. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, increasing safety in the event of a fire. The outer jacket made of silicone in brick red color provides additional protection and identification. Seven cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² allow for power transmission in various applications.
Applications and benefits
The HELUTHERM SiHF cable finds application in a wide range of industries, including:
- Metallurgical industry: Resistance to high temperatures makes it ideal for use in furnaces and other heating devices.
- Glass and ceramics industry: Resistance to extreme thermal conditions guarantees reliable operation in difficult production processes.
- Cement plants: Resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage ensures long-term operation in demanding environments.
- Shipbuilding industry: Resistance to moisture and corrosion makes it suitable for marine applications.
- Power plants: Halogen-free construction increases fire safety in critical energy infrastructure.
- Lighting: The ability to operate at high temperatures allows it to be used in lighting fixtures generating heat.
Additional advantages:
