High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This two-core silicone cable, manufactured according to UL/CSA standards, is an ideal solution for applications requiring resistance to high temperatures and flexibility. The cable is characterized by exceptional durability in harsh industrial conditions and provides secure connections in demanding applications. It is particularly recommended for use where standard cables fail.
Construction and properties
The cable is designed for extreme working conditions. It features tinned multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), ensuring flexibility and corrosion resistance. Silicone insulation guarantees the retention of properties over a wide temperature range – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). Additionally, the outer silicone coating provides resistance to chemical and mechanical factors. The cores are marked in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308, which facilitates identification and improves installation safety. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 7.7 mm.
The cable is halogen-free, meaning it does not release toxic gases in the event of a fire – it meets the standards DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1 and CSA FT1. Additionally, it does not propagate flames according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1.
Applications and benefits
SiHF UL/CSA silicone cable finds application in many industries:
- Power plants: thanks to its resistance to high temperatures and dielectric properties.
- Steel industry: in places exposed to extreme thermal and mechanical conditions.
- Aerospace and shipbuilding industries: where high reliability and connection flexibility are required.
- Ceramics, glass and cement plants: due to resistance to high temperatures and aggressive environments.
- Flexible connections: ideal as a connecting cable in portable devices or those exposed to movement.
Thanks to its construction, the cable is resistant to oils, greases, alcohols, acids, alkalis and UV radiation. This ensures long-lasting and reliable operation even in the most demanding conditions. This is particularly important in critical applications where failure can lead to downtime or safety hazards.
