Single-core halogen-free cable, resistant to high temperatures
This purple HELUTHERM® 145 cable with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² is a reliable solution for applications requiring high thermal resistance and fire safety. The cable is designed for a wide range of electrical installations, both in construction and industry.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a single-core construction with copper strands, tinned according to DIN VDE 0295 class 5, BS 6360 class 5 or IEC 60228 class 5 standards. The insulation is made of electron-crosslinked polyolefin copolymer, which provides exceptional temperature resistance and flame-retardant properties. Electron crosslinking increases the insulation's resistance to mechanical and chemical damage.
It is worth noting several key features:
- Halogen-free: In the event of a fire, it does not release toxic gases and fumes, increasing the safety of users and facilitating evacuation.
- High temperature resistance: The cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range – flexibly from -35°C to +120°C and stationary from -55°C to +145°C.
- Weather resistance: Good resistance to UV and ozone allows the cable to be used in harsh outdoor conditions.
- Reduced flame propagation: Meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0482-332-3-22, BS 4066 part 3, DIN EN 60332-3-22 and IEC 60332-3-22 (test method C), confirming its fire-retardant properties.
- Flexibility: Flexible multi-wire strands (class 5) make it easy to install and lay the cable, even in tight spaces.
Applications
HELUTHERM® 145 cable finds application in many areas:
- Wiring of lighting fixtures
- Heating and thermal devices
- Electrical machines (thermal class B)
- Electrical distribution boards
- Construction of machines and installations for under-, on- and in-wall mounting
- Laying in protective conduits (up to 1000 V AC or 750 V DC)
- Railway vehicles (up to 900 V DC)
Thanks to its properties, this cable is ideal for applications requiring high fire safety and reliability in harsh working conditions. The rated voltage is 300/500 V for cross-sections up to 1 mm² and 450/750 V (when laid permanently in protective conduits) or 600/1000 V for cross-sections from 1.5 mm². The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 3.7 mm.
