Halogen-free high-temperature cable – safety and durability of installation

This red, single-core HELUTHERM® 145 cable with a cross-section of 4 mm² is a reliable solution for installations requiring resistance to high temperatures and special care for fire safety. The cable is designed for a wide range of applications, both in residential and industrial buildings.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a construction based on tinned, stranded copper conductors (class 5), which provides it with flexibility and ease of installation. The cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation guarantees high temperature resistance – up to +120°C during continuous operation and up to +145°C during permanent installation. Importantly, the insulating material is halogen-free, which means that in the event of a fire, it does not release toxic gases and fumes, increasing evacuation safety. The cable is also resistant to oils, UV radiation and weather conditions, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors.

Applications and benefits

The HELUTHERM® 145 cable is used in the wiring of lighting fixtures, heating devices, electric machines and switchboards. It is ideal for installation in conduit, under plaster and in closed systems. Thanks to its high temperature load capacity, it is possible to use cables with a smaller cross-section – which can generate savings. The cable meets safety standards (HD 606, BS 7622) and is designed to operate at a rated voltage of up to 500 V (300/500 V) or 750 V (450/750 V), and in the case of permanent installations even up to 1000 V AC or 750 V DC. In rail vehicles, a DC voltage of up to 900V is permissible. Its outer diameter is approximately 4.5 mm.
