Single-core halogen-free wire, resistant to high temperatures HELUTHERM® 145 1x0.34 mm² red 51170

Single-core halogen-free cable, resistant to high temperatures.

This red HELUTHERM® 145 single-core cable is designed for demanding applications where temperature resistance and fire safety are critical. Made of tinned copper with a cross-linked polyolefin copolymer insulation, it provides a reliable connection in electrical installations. The cable is characterized by its flexibility and ease of installation, which will be appreciated by both installers and end-users.

Construction and properties

The HELUTHERM® 145 cable stands out with a construction that ensures high functionality and safety. The copper core, meeting DIN VDE 0295 class 5 (or equivalent BS 6360 class 5 / IEC 60228 class 5), guarantees good electrical conductivity. The cross-linked polyolefin copolymer insulation provides not only resistance to high temperatures (up to +145°C for stationary installation and +120°C for flexible laying) but also flame-retardant and halogen-free properties. This means that in the event of a fire, the cable will not spread flames or release toxic gases, increasing evacuation safety. Additionally, the cable is resistant to abrasion, oils, and weather conditions – making it ideal for use in harsh environmental conditions.

Applications and benefits

The HELUTHERM® 145 cable finds wide application in various areas:

  • Wiring of lighting fixtures: Safety and temperature resistance are crucial in this type of installation.
  • Heating devices: The cable works perfectly in devices generating heat, where standard cables could be damaged.
  • Electrical machines (thermal class B): Ensures reliable operation even in demanding machine operating conditions.
  • Distribution boards: Resistance to high temperatures minimizes the risk of failure in electrical distribution boards.
  • Building installations: The possibility of use in concealed, surface and duct installations increases the versatility of the product.
  • Railway vehicles: Can be used at DC voltage up to 900V (in railway vehicles).

It is worth noting a few key advantages:

  • Fire safety: The absence of halogen in the insulation and flame-retardant properties minimize the risk during a fire.
  • Temperature resistance: A wide range of operating temperatures (-55°C to +145°C) allows the cable to be used in extreme conditions.
  • Flexibility: Facilitates installation and routing of cables in tight spaces.
  • Durability: Resistance to abrasion, oils and weather conditions ensures long-term operation.
  • Compliance with standards: Meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and has the approval of Germanischer Lloyd.

The core cross-section is 0.34 mm², and the rated voltage is 300/500 V (when laid in conduit, higher voltages can be used). The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 1.9 mm, which facilitates its routing through limited spaces.
