Professional sealing for solar installations
O-ring KS ¾" is a specialized seal designed for solar collector connections, serving as a key element that ensures the long-term tightness of the entire solar installation. The gasket is factory-mounted on the collector fittings, which guarantees a correct fit and eliminates the risk of assembly errors.
Material and chemical resistance
The seal is made of high-quality fluoroelastomer based on Du Pont's VITON® rubber, providing exceptional durability and resistance to aggressive media. Compared to standard silicone seals, the VITON® material is characterized by increased mechanical strength against cuts and deformations, which translates into a longer seal lifespan.
The material maintains full functionality in an extreme temperature range from -40°C to +220°C, enabling operation during both freezing winter nights and intense summer sunlight. Additionally, the elastomer exhibits resistance to oils, lubricants, and glycols, which is particularly important in heating systems with heat exchangers.
Operating parameters and assembly
Using the o-ring on compression fittings requires low tightening force, with a maximum torque of 5 Nm. This assembly parameter ensures full connection tightness while simultaneously allowing for easy disassembly of components if maintenance or service work is required.
The seal construction allows for multiple assembly and disassembly cycles without loss of technical parameters, which is crucial during solar installation servicing. Additional protection in the form of plastic caps protects the o-ring from mechanical damage during transport and storage.
Application and compatibility
The KS ¾" seal is primarily used in solar systems utilizing solar collectors for domestic hot water heating or building heating support. Thanks to its universal technical parameters, it performs well in both small residential installations and larger commercial systems.
The VITON® material is characterized by high temperature resistance and maintains flexibility even after years of operation, preserving its original sealing parameters throughout the entire service life of the solar system.
