Application and construction of the pool heat exchanger
The B300 shell and tube heat exchanger is a counter-current flow device designed specifically for installations where efficient heat exchange is crucial at relatively high medium flow rates. Its primary application is pool installations, but it also performs well in solar systems, underfloor heating, or even for surface defrosting. The heart of the device is a bundle of 59 corrugated tubes made of AISI 316L stainless steel. This material choice is intentional – this steel, additionally heat-treated, provides exceptional resistance to corrosion caused by aggressive chemicals used in pool water, such as chlorine or fluoride. This allows the device to maintain its properties for years, even under difficult operating conditions.
Thermal efficiency and resistance to fouling
A key structural feature of this model is the corrugated tube design. Its specific shape not only increases the heat exchange surface (reaching 0.7 m²) but, above all, intensifies the thermal exchange process. More importantly for the installer and user – such a design promotes the device's self-cleaning capabilities. The high flow velocity on the shell side (volume 2.6 l) prevents the deposition of scale and other contaminants, which translates to maintaining high efficiency without the need for frequent mechanical inspections. The heating water flows through the tubes (volume 1.8 l), while the heated water moves in the shell space with an outer diameter of 102 mm.
Mounting parameters and operating conditions
The device is ready for installation thanks to standard female threaded connections for both circuits (primary and secondary). The maximum working pressure is 16 bar, allowing for safe operation in most domestic and commercial hydraulic systems. The operating temperature range is wide: from -10 °C up to 203 °C, making it a versatile component not only in the summer season. The entire unit weighs only 7.3 kg (including connections), which facilitates handling during installation. It is worth noting that this model is not intended for installation within insulation cladding – its compact dimensions (height 637 mm) allow for easy fitting into technical boiler rooms or technological cabinets.
