Ball valve water DN 15 WKP 2c 1.6 - 4.0 MPa APA01510140170
Application in industrial and district heating installations
This full-bore ball valve is designed for demanding operating conditions where tightness and resistance to high pressure are critical. The device is suitable for district heating networks, water supply systems, and air conditioning systems. Thanks to its weld-on construction, it provides a durable connection to steel pipes, eliminating the risk of leaks typical of threaded connections in harsh environments.
The valve is intended for use with fluids classified as Group 2 (in accordance with Directive 97/23/EC), which includes water, oils, and other media that do not react chemically with carbon steel. This is crucial when selecting fittings for heating or industrial installations where material stability in contact with the medium is a priority.
Construction and key technical features
The main advantage of this model is its full bore, which ensures minimal pressure drop during flow – the fluid passes through the valve without channel constriction. Such a solution is particularly desirable in installations where every pressure drop affects the efficiency of the entire system.
The device features a wide operating pressure range from 1.6 to 4.0 MPa (PN16–PN40), allowing its use in both standard installations and those with elevated operating parameters. Installation is performed by direct welding into the pipeline, guaranteeing the highest tightness and mechanical strength of the connection. The body is made of carbon steel, which exhibits corrosion resistance in contact with water and oils (non-aggressive media). The product holds the State Certification Center for Pressure Equipment (ŚZSJ) Certificate No. 2/17 and Declaration Number 36/AP, confirming compliance with safety standards for pressure equipment.
The available product range covers a wide range of nominal diameters – from DN 15 up to DN 150. For smaller sizes (DN 15–DN 80) and medium sizes (DN 100–DN 150), different pressure versions are provided: most models operate in the range of 1.6 to 4.0 MPa, while larger diameters (above DN 80) are offered in versions with an operating pressure of 1.6 MPa or an elevated level of 2.5 MPa. This allows selecting the appropriate unit for the specific load of the installation without the need for additional flow restrictors.
Installation and operating conditions
For installers, proper preparation of pipe edges before welding the valve is crucial to avoid excessive heating of the ball element during the welding process. Due to its full-bore design, the valve creates no flow resistance, facilitating subsequent cleaning of the installation by mechanical or chemical methods without the need to disassemble the fitting.
It is worth noting that the pressure range "from... to..." indicates application flexibility – the same model can operate stably at a lower working pressure (e.g., in a standard district heating network) or at a higher one (in specific industrial circuits), provided that the appropriate safety margins specified by the manufacturer for a given nominal diameter are maintained. This eliminates the need to order different pressure versions for similar applications with slightly different operating parameters.
