Electrothermal Actuator EMO T II

The EMO T II electrothermal actuator is an advanced device for precise medium flow regulation in HVAC installations. Thanks to the ability to operate in on/off and PWM (pulse width modulation) modes, it ensures flexible control in both simple two-position applications and advanced modulating systems.

The device works with a wide range of balancing and control valves, including popular models TBV-C, TA-Nano, TA-COMPACT-P, and standard thermostatic valves. The design based on electrothermal technology guarantees reliable operation with minimal power consumption.

Technical parameters and design

A compact housing with dimensions of 59 × 49 mm made of durable PC/ABS material in white (RAL 9016) provides mechanical resistance and an aesthetic appearance. The actuator operates with a supply voltage of 230 V AC and features a normally closed (NC) function, meaning the valve remains closed in the absence of power.

The mechanism offers a working stroke of 5 mm with a full cycle time of 240 seconds. The regulating force reaches 125 N, ensuring reliable operation even with high valve movement resistance. The device maintains full functionality in ambient temperatures from 0°C to 60°C.

Functionality, control and mounting

EMO T II supports a two-position control signal, enabling precise valve position control. A position indicator visible from every side significantly facilitates diagnostics during commissioning and system service. The first-open function keeps the actuator in the open position until the system is started, simplifying startup procedures.

An initiating current of ≤250 mA for 1 second and a power consumption during movement of only 2.5 VA make the device an energy-efficient solution. Maximum electrical power consumption is only 1 VA, which reduces the load on the electrical installation.

The standard M30 × 1.5 threaded connection ensures compatibility with most valves available on the market. The snap ring significantly simplifies the mounting of the actuator on the valve thread, eliminating the need for additional tools. The 2-meter long power cable made using halogen-free technology meets the fire class requirements B2ca - s1a, d1, a1 according to EN 50575.

The IP54 protection rating guarantees safe operation in industrial environments and residential buildings, protecting against dust and water droplets. The device can be mounted in any position without loss of operating parameters.

Reliability and certification

The EMO T II actuator has undergone rigorous endurance tests - it was tested in combination with all IMI valves for 150000 operating cycles, confirming its high long-term reliability. The "liquid-filled" design ensures stable thermal operation of the active element.

The model meets all European standard requirements regarding electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility and has the fire class B2ca - s1a, d1, a1 for halogen-free cables according to EN 50575.
