The EMO TM II proportional actuator is an advanced electrothermal solution designed for precise fluid regulation in heating and cooling installations. The device features automatic valve stroke recognition and self-adjusting stroke length, eliminating the need for manual configuration during installation.

Compatibility and versatility of applications

EMO TM II works with a wide range of balancing and control valves, including popular models TA-Modulator, TBV-CM, TA-Nano, and thermostatic valves. Automatic valve stroke recognition ensures optimal control characteristics regardless of the type of valve used.

The device supports 0-10V DC control signals with an automatic signal type recognition function, simplifying integration with various building automation systems. An internal resistance of 100 kΩ guarantees compatibility with most proportional controllers available on the market.

Construction and operating parameters

The actuator is made in a white PC/ABS housing RAL 9016, providing high mechanical resistance and an aesthetic appearance. The IP54 protection rating enables safe operation in any mounting position and protects against dust and water droplets.

The device operates in an ambient temperature of 0°C to +60°C (some sources state a range up to +50°C), offering a regulation force of 125 N at a stroke of 5 mm. The full operating cycle time is 240 seconds, and the travel speed is 30 seconds per millimeter.

Functional features and diagnostics

A position indicator visible from every side significantly facilitates service and diagnostic work, allowing for a quick assessment of the device's status without the need for disassembly. The first-opening function keeps the actuator in the open position until the system is started.

Installation is simplified by the M30x1,5 snap ring, made of nickel-plated brass, which allows for quick and secure mounting on the valve thread. Additionally, the device is liquid-filled, which improves the thermal operating characteristics.

Electrical parameters and safety

The actuator is powered by 24V AC (+25%/-20%) at a frequency of 50-60Hz, consuming a maximum of 1 VA power. Power consumption during startup does not exceed 7W, during movement 3W, and in standby mode only 25 mA.

The device complies with the EN 60730 standard and holds the CE certificate, guaranteeing the highest electrical safety standards. The protection class II design provides additional insulation from the metal housing of the installation.

Reliability and durability

EMO TM II has been tested in combination with all IMI valves for 150 000 operating cycles, confirming its high long-term reliability. The unique electrothermal design ensures long-term operation without the need for maintenance.
