Advanced control for heating and cooling installations
TA-SMART DN 15 is a 2-way control valve with a unique EQM characteristic, which utilizes ultrasonic flow measurement technology combined with temperature and power measurement functions. The system offers control options based on flow, power, or ΔT, enabling operation in heating and cooling installations.
Precise measurement technology
At the heart of the system is ultrasonic flow measurement technology, which, combined with two Pt1000 temperature sensors, enables accurate measurement of flow, temperature, and power regardless of the medium type and its temperature. The valve maintains high accuracy across the entire flow range from 0,0444 to 0,3333 l/s, with a Kvs value of 1,9.
The Delta-T management system allows for optimization of system efficiency by controlling the temperature difference between supply and return. The valve characteristic can be switched between equal percentage and linear, adapting to the specific requirements of the installation.
Advanced control and communication
TA-SMART offers versatile control capabilities via analog signals (0-10V / 4-20mA) and digital BUS and MQTT protocols. The position signaling system generates a 0-10V signal, allowing for precise valve position control.
Configuration is performed via a web interface and Bluetooth, with support for a handheld terminal for local settings. Automatic stroke recognition and self-regulating stroke length eliminate the need for manual calibration.
Durable material construction
The body made of AMETAL® ensures corrosion resistance in HVAC environments. The stainless steel stem and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seals maintain tightness at pressures up to PN 25.
The device operates at ambient temperatures of 0...50°C with a relative humidity of 5...95%, and a protection class of IP54. The maximum differential pressure is 400 kPa, and the minimum differential pressure is only 5 kPa.
Diagnostic functions and safety
The system is equipped with a data logger capable of storing information for 13 months, enabling detailed analysis of installation performance. Real-time monitoring allows for problem identification.
Protections include anti-seizing protection for the valve, blockage detection, and automatic transition to a safe position in case of a system error. Delayed startup protects the installation from sudden parameter changes.
Power supply and electrical parameters
The valve is powered by 24V AC/DC (±15%) with a maximum power consumption of 5.6 VA. The connection cable length is 3 meters, providing installation flexibility. The power supply must be provided by a transformer compliant with EN 61558-2-6 for SELV III safety.
The valve leakage relative to the Kvs value is only 0.01%, which minimizes hydraulic losses in control applications requiring high precision.
Medium compatibility
The device is adapted for use with water and glycol solutions, expanding its application in cooling installations requiring anti-freeze additives. The medium temperature can range from -10°C to +110°C in continuous operation mode.
BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) threaded connections ensure standard compatibility with most HVAC installations available on the European market.
