The TA-SMART FS (Fail-safe) DN 40 intelligent control valve is an advanced device combining regulation and measurement functions in a compact design. Equipped with unique EQM characteristics and ultrasonic flow measurement technology, it offers high regulation precision in heating and cooling installations.
Advanced measurement and control technology
At the heart of the device is ultrasonic flow measurement technology combined with unique control capabilities, ensuring effective regulation across a wide range of operating conditions. The valve offers precise and fast regulation even at very low flows under partial load conditions, ensuring smooth regulation throughout the entire valve stroke range from 0.43 to 2.17 l/s.
A Kvs value of 12.3 and the ability to set equal percentage or linear characteristics allow for optimal adaptation to the specifics of the installation. The device utilizes electronic pressure compensation and two Pt1000 temperature sensors to monitor operating parameters.
Fail-safe function and operational safety
A key feature is the safety function (Fail-safe), which ensures reliable operation even in the event of a system failure. It allows for setting a fail-safe position (open, closed, or intermediate position) and configuring the input/output delay when exiting fail-safe mode.
The device features a wide range of safety function configurations, including flow or power setpoints, as well as the ability to perform a quick check of the safety function status. Additionally, it offers protection against valve seizing, valve blockage detection, and technical condition diagnostics.
Communication and system management
TA-SMART FS offers versatile communication both digital (BUS and MQTT protocols) and analog (0-10 V DC or 0-20 mA). The device can be configured via a web interface, a mobile application via Bluetooth, or using a handheld terminal.
The system enables Delta-T management, heating/cooling mode, and optional ΔT and return temperature limiting to optimize system efficiency. It also includes data logging functions with the ability to store data for 13 months and real-time monitoring.
Construction and operating parameters
The housing made of high-quality AMETAL® material ensures durability and corrosion resistance. Stem and ball seals made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber guarantee reliability over many years of operation.
The device operates in temperatures from -10°C to 110°C at a working pressure of PN 25 and a maximum differential pressure of 400 kPa. The IP54 protection rating and a wide relative humidity range (5-95%) allow for installation in various environmental conditions. Compact dimensions (218×97×198 mm) significantly facilitate installation, even in retrofit systems.
