Halogen-free power cable – safety and reliability of installation
N2XCH 0.6/1.0kV cable is an advanced solution designed for powering and controlling in installations where fire safety is a priority. Made of copper conductors, shielded and characterized by the absence of halogen in the coating, it minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire. This is crucial in public buildings such as hotels, hospitals or schools, but it will also work in any other place where high fire resistance is required.
This cable is particularly recommended for use in harsh conditions where standard cables may fail. Its construction provides not only safety but also long-lasting and reliable operation. The use of copper as a conductive material guarantees excellent electrical conductivity and minimizes energy losses. Shielding, in turn, protects against electromagnetic interference, which is important in installations sensitive to noise.
Construction and properties
The N2XCH cable is distinguished by an advanced construction that provides optimal performance and safety. Copper conductors class 1 (according to EN 60228, IEC 60228) guarantee high flexibility and easy installation. The cable screen effectively reduces the impact of electromagnetic interference on transmitted signals. The outer coating made of a halogen-free material meets stringent fire safety standards – fire reaction class B2ca, smoke emission class s1 and burning droplets/particles class d0. Additionally, the cable has acidity class a1, which means no corrosion during a fire.
- Fire safety: The absence of halogen in the coating minimizes the emission of toxic gases during a fire.
- Interference resistance: Effective shielding protects against electromagnetic interference.
- Durability: Copper conductors ensure high conductivity and long cable life.
- Flexibility: The cable construction makes it easy to install and lay even in difficult conditions.
- Compliance with standards: Meets fire safety standards (B2ca, s1, d0).
- Wide application: Ideal for permanent installations inside buildings and in places with increased safety requirements.
Technical parameters and applications
N2XCH 3x4 RE/4 cable with a conductor cross-section of 4 mm² is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 0.6/1 kV. The test voltage is 4 kV and the minimum bending radius for permanent connections is 15 x cable diameter (Ø). It can be used at temperatures from -5°C to +90°C (permanent installation) and from -5°C to +50°C (mobile installations). The maximum conductor temperature during operation is 90°C and during a short circuit (up to 5s) – 250°C. This cable is used in power installations of residential, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as in control and automation systems. It is ideal for powering electrical devices requiring high reliability and safety.
