Copper reduction nipple – a reliable connection in installations
The copper reduction nipple, also known as a reducing nipple, is a component connecting pipes of different diameters in water and heating installations. Made of copper, it ensures durability and corrosion resistance. This model, with diameters of 28/22 mm, is designed for KAN-therm Copper press systems, offering quick and safe installation without the need for soldering.
Construction and application
This reduction has socket connections on both sides – 28 mm on one side and 22 mm on the other. This allows for a smooth transition between pipes of different diameters, maintaining the tightness and integrity of the installation. It is ideal for modernizing existing installations where it is necessary to adjust the pipe diameter or connect new elements. Thanks to the "Press" crimping technology, installation is quick, clean and does not require specialized tools other than the crimping tool itself.
Functionality and safety
A key feature of this reduction is the LBP (Leak Before Press) controlled leak function. This means that in the event of incomplete crimping of the connection, a visible leak will occur, allowing for immediate detection and repair of the error. In addition, the O-ring seal made of EPDM ensures tightness up to 16 bar and temperatures up to 110°C. The use of a three-point clamp guarantees a secure and durable connection, resistant to shocks and pressure changes. Copper as a material of execution ensures corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. Copper pipes used with this system should comply with EN 1057 R220/R250/R290 standard.
