Application and Purpose

The PK 90X55 D angle cover is a bent element for perimeter trunking systems, specifically designed for low-voltage distribution installations. This element enables a change in the direction of the installation at a 90° angle, making it an essential component when designing complex cable routes in residential, office, and industrial buildings.

The system was developed for the mounting of modular devices with dimensions of 45×45 mm or 22.5×45 mm, allowing for the integration of sockets, switches, and other electrical installation elements directly into the perimeter trunking.

Material and Technical Properties

The cover is made of high-quality lead-free PVC, which guarantees ecological neutrality and full compliance with current environmental standards. The material is characterized by self-extinguishing properties - in the event of contact with fire, it extinguishes automatically within 30 seconds, significantly increasing installation safety.

The element operates in a temperature range from -5°C to +60°C, enabling installation in both heated rooms and industrial conditions with elevated temperatures. The design has passed the glow wire test at 850°C, confirming its resistance to high temperatures.

The construction provides an IP40 protection rating and IK07 (1J) impact resistance, protecting the installation from accidental mechanical damage and contact with solid objects larger than 1mm.

Installation and Compatibility

Installation is performed using clamps, and the mounting perforation in the lower part (every 200±20mm) allows for solid fastening to the substrate. The system allows for the placement of a maximum of 3 modular devices directly next to each other. If more devices need to be installed, a cover fragment approximately 5 cm wide should be used after every three elements for their stabilization.

The cover is compatible with devices from renowned manufacturers: ABB, Legrand, PEHA, Schneider Electric, and Simon Connect, providing wide possibilities for selecting electrical installation accessories.

For circuit separation, PEKE 60_-C dividers or alternatively PKS 70/60_XX can be used, which provide similar properties to metal dividers while being lighter and easier to install.

Safety and Certifications

The element meets the requirements of the EN 50085-1 ed.2:06+A1:14 and EN 50085-2-1:07+A1:12 standards, confirming its compliance with European standards for low-voltage installation systems.

The system can be installed in areas where there is a risk of explosion:

• Zone 2: places with a danger of explosion of flammable gases and vapors
• Zone 22: areas with a risk of dust explosion

The material exhibits high chemical resistance to many industrial substances such as ammonia (25%), sodium hydroxide (60%), sulfuric acid (96%), mineral oils, or hydrogen peroxide (20%). At the same time, contact with acetone, benzene, or chlorinated hydrocarbons is not recommended.

The product possesses antibacterial properties, confirmed by tests according to the ČSN EN ISO 846:2019 standard conducted by SZÚ against nine types of pathogenic bacteria, including E.coli, Staphylococcus aureus, or Legionella pneumophila.

The internal surface area is 3800 mm², and when using a channel cross-section at the 60% level, the system can accommodate varying amounts of cables depending on their diameter - from 44 cables ø6mm to as few as one cable ø16mm per linear meter of trunking.
