EKD 100x40 Branch Cover - cable management system component

The EKD 100x40 branch cover enables aesthetic and safe branching in electrical installations. Made of high-quality PVC, it provides durable protection for cables at points where the installation direction changes.

Construction and materials

The cover body is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which guarantees resistance to chemicals typical for electrical installation environments. The material maintains its properties across a wide temperature range from -5°C to 60°C, allowing for use in both heated and unheated rooms.

The cover features an IP40 protection class, providing basic protection against finger access and against access by a wire with a diameter greater than 1mm. The IK06 impact resistance guarantees durability against impacts with energy up to 1J, which is particularly important in high-traffic areas.

The snap-in mounting system allows for quick installation and disassembly without the use of tools, significantly facilitating maintenance work and any potential installation modifications.

Application and compatibility

The component is designed specifically for EKD electrical trunking systems with dimensions of 100x40mm. The cover is suitable for use in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Compliance with the CSN EN 50 085-1 standard ensures user safety and compatibility with other system elements. The product can be used with base material having a flammability class up to C3, which expands the range of possible applications.

The white color (RAL 9003) allows for discreet integration with most typical electrical installations, maintaining an aesthetic finish.

Operating parameters and safety

The EKD branch cover has been tested for operating parameters under real-world conditions. The operating temperature range of -5°C to +60°C covers most typical environmental conditions found in residential and commercial buildings.

The product surface remains in a raw state (without additional coatings), which eliminates the risk of coating degradation during operation and simplifies the disposal process at the end of the product's life cycle.

The system does not feature a function to maintain operational integrity during a fire (E30/E90); therefore, it is not intended for applications requiring fire resistance of building structural elements.
