Temperature control in server and rack cabinets

The Lanberg AK-1505-B closing thermostat is a simple but effective solution for regulating temperature in server cabinets, UPS systems, monitoring and other equipment sensitive to overheating. The device controls the power supply to cooling devices – fans or air conditioners – automatically turning them on when the temperature exceeds the set value. This avoids unnecessary cooling operation, reduces operating costs and extends the life of the equipment.

The thermostat uses a bimetallic sensor that reacts to changes in ambient temperature, mechanically deforming and closing the electrical circuit. The user can independently set the preferred temperature, adapting the device's operation to specific needs. A fast-acting normally open (NO) contact provides an immediate response to temperature increases.

Mounting and safety

The design of the Lanberg AK-1505-B thermostat has been designed for easy mounting. The ability to mount both on a standard 35mm DIN rail and using a dedicated RACK standard bracket provides great flexibility during installation. The RACK bracket is removable and has holes allowing mounting in various configurations – left or right, front or rear of the mounting rail. In addition, the housing made of UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant plastic provides a high level of safety – in the event of a fire, the material will not be a source of additional fire.

The kit includes all necessary mounting accessories: RACK bracket, electrical box with three 10A contacts and mounting elements.

Specification and application

The AK-1505-B thermostat is designed to operate in a temperature range from 0°C to 60°C and with a supply voltage from 120V to 250V AC. The maximum contact load is 10A at 250V AC. The device is compact – dimensions are 43 x 67.8 x 97.3 mm – allowing it to be easily placed even in tight rack cabinet spaces. Wires with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm² ensure safe connection to the electrical installation. The switching hysteresis is 7K (with a tolerance of ±4K), which ensures stable operation of the device without frequent switching on and off of the cooling.
