The SKINTOP® STR-M cable gland is an advanced solution for sealing and strain relieving cables entering enclosures. Made of high-quality polyamide (PA), it provides exceptional resistance to oil and other environmental factors encountered in demanding industrial applications.

Construction and materials

The gland body is made of polyamide (PA) - a plastic with enhanced mechanical and chemical resistance. The material is characterized by high oil resistance, making it an ideal choice for harsh industrial conditions. The gland features a particularly long connection thread (9 mm), which enables mounting in thick-walled enclosures - a typical situation in industrial switchgear and control cabinets.

The seal is made of chloroprene rubber (CR), ensuring reliable sealing over a long service life. The design includes a reduction sealing washer, allowing for use with cables having smaller diameters than the nominal range.

Operating parameters and IP protection

The gland provides an IP68 protection rating at 5 bar pressure for 30 minutes, as well as IP69, guaranteeing full dust-tightness and water resistance even when submerged. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to +100°C, covering most typical industrial applications.

The M20×1.5 metric thread enables precise mounting in accordance with the DIN EN 60423 standard. The wrench size is 25 mm (some sources state 24 mm), facilitating installation with standard tools.

Application and compatibility

The gland accommodates cables with an outer diameter of 4-10 mm, offering a large, variable clamping range for various types of conductors. The design includes a strain relief function, protecting cables from mechanical damage caused by pulling or vibrations.

The product finds wide application in the machinery industry, electrical switchgear, control panels, and energy management systems. It is particularly recommended for installations where high connection reliability and resistance to environmental conditions are required.

Safety and certifications

The gland holds comprehensive international certifications: cULus, cURus, CSA, CE, and TUV, confirming its compliance with the highest safety standards. The product is free from SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) as of June 2025.

The design is equipped with a patented anti-vibration lock, which prevents the cap nut from loosening during the operation of devices exposed to vibrations - a typical situation in electric motors and other rotating equipment.

The silver grey version (RAL 7001) is suitable for indoor and outdoor use while maintaining IP68/IP69 protection parameters.
