Internal telecommunications cable for stationary installations

The J-Y(ST)Y...LG cable with four pairs of single-core wires is a classic solution used in telecommunications and control installations. The construction based on TP (Twisted Pair) design ensures good circuit decoupling - the wires are twisted in pairs with a short lay length, which minimizes crosstalk and allows for stable transmission of analog and digital signals under electromagnetic interference conditions.

A common screen made of aluminum foil laminated with plastic and a drain wire shields the entire bundle of conductors. This construction effectively reduces the influence of external high-frequency electromagnetic fields on signal quality - an important feature in installations running near power cables or devices emitting EMI.

Construction and materials

The bare copper conductors have a diameter of 0,8 mm each and belong to class 1 (single-core). The conductor insulation and the outer sheath are made of PVC - a material that provides sufficient mechanical resistance while maintaining the flexibility required for laying the cable in typical construction conditions. The sheath is gray (RAL 7032), and the cable itself has a round cross-section with an outer diameter of 9 mm. The approximate weight is 100 kg/km, with a copper content of 41 kg/km.

The minimum bending radius for fixed installation is 90 mm (10 × outer diameter). The cable is free from PWIS substances (according to VDMA 24364-B2-L), allowing its use in industrial environments with strict cleanliness requirements.

Temperature range and operating conditions

The cable operates at temperatures from -30 to 70°C after permanent installation. During installation, the permissible range is from -5 to 50°C - below zero, the stiffening of the PVC must be taken into account, and the cable should not be laid in strong frost without preheating.

The test voltage of the cable is 0,8 kV (between conductors and between a conductor and the screen). The loop resistance at 20°C is approximately 73,2 Ω/km, and the attenuation at 800 Hz is 1,1 dB/km, which is a typical value for telecommunications cables of this class.

Applications and compatibility

The cable is intended for installation in dry and damp rooms - on plaster, under plaster, in partition walls, and in concrete. It is not intended for outdoor installation or direct contact with water.

• Telephone systems - landline telephones, faxes, modems,
• Alarm systems - Intrusion and Burglary Alarm Systems, intercoms,

The VDE 0815 identification code defines the conductor color standard used throughout the J-Y(ST)Y...LG cable family, which facilitates the expansion of installations with additional sections or the replacement of fragments.

Fire safety and certificates

The cable is flame retardant according to IEC 60332-1-2, meaning it has the ability to self-extinguish after the ignition source is removed. The fire reaction class according to CPR is Eca.

However, it should be noted that the cable is neither halogen-free nor low-smoke - it releases hydrogen chloride and thick smoke during combustion. For this reason, it is not recommended for use in evacuation spaces or where LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) standards apply.

The cable carries the CE marking and EAC certification for Eurasian markets. It meets the requirements of the DIN VDE 0815 standard for J-Y(ST)Y...LG type internal telecommunications cables.
