Application and functionality

The SKINDICHT® SM-PE-M securing nut is a specialized component for mounting SKINTOP® and SKINDICHT® cable glands inside enclosures, specifically designed for thin-walled, unthreaded enclosures that allow only a single through-hole.

The main function of this nut is to provide effective grounding contact and protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC). Thanks to its special cutting edges, it cuts through the enclosure's insulating layer (lacquered, anodized, or powder-coated) during tightening, guaranteeing optimal electrical contact.

Construction and materials

Made of nickel-plated brass, which ensures excellent corrosion resistance as well as high mechanical and chemical loads. The hexagonal shape allows for easy installation using standard tools.

Thread parameters

The nut features a metric M12x1,5 mm thread with a thickness of 4,7 mm. The hexagon width across flats is 17,3 mm, ensuring stable fastening with standard assembly tools.

The material is halogen-free, making it environmentally friendly and suitable for applications requiring high purity.
