Application and function

The SKINTOP® GMP-GL-M lock nut is used for mounting SKINTOP® cable glands in non-threaded holes. It is an essential installation component that enables a secure and durable connection between the cable and the device housing.

The hexagonal shape allows for a secure grip with mounting tools, which significantly facilitates installation and disassembly. The M12x1.5 metric thread ensures compatibility with standard cable glands of this series.

Construction and materials

The body is made of polyamide (PA) - a plastic with high mechanical and chemical resistance. The material is glass fiber reinforced, which guarantees maximum structural stability and resistance to deformation during installation.

The specially designed support surface serves as the contact plane for open-ended wrenches. Thanks to this solution, the housing remains protected from scratching during tightening - the tool works on a dedicated surface rather than directly on the device body.

The construction is halogen-free, making it safe for the environment and the user in the event of a fire.

Operating properties

The nut operates in a wide temperature range from -20°C to +100°C, maintaining its mechanical parameters even in harsh industrial conditions.

The material exhibits resistance to UV radiation, oils, and many chemical substances, enabling use both indoors and outdoors.

The wrench size is 17 mm, and the hexagon across flats is 18.7 mm, ensuring optimal tightening torque while maintaining compact mounting dimensions.

The metric thread with a 1.5 mm pitch guarantees a precise connection and easy installation with standard tools.
