Application and functionality

The SKINDICHT® KU-M reduction is a practical solution that enables the adaptation of existing threaded holes in machines, devices, and enclosures to smaller cable glands. Thanks to this reduction, you can use standard M12 glands even if you already have M20 holes prepared — this eliminates the need to replace entire components or drill new holes.

The conversion of threads from M20 to M12 allows for flexible adaptation of the cable sealing system to the actual needs of the installation, especially during modernizations or repairs of existing systems.

Construction and materials

The reduction body is made of glass-fiber reinforced polyamide (PA), which ensures maximum mechanical stability while maintaining a low mass (approximately 5.7g). The material is characterized by high resistance to mechanical damage and dimensional stability.

The standard color is light grey (RAL 7035), and a UV-resistant black version is also available. The reduction features a metric thread with a 1.5mm pitch — a standard specification for most industrial applications.

Operating parameters and compatibility

The device operates in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +100°C, making it suitable for both cooling and high-temperature applications. The wrench size is 24mm, facilitating installation with standard tools.

The reduction is intended for standard applications only — it does not have an explosion-proof design. Nickel plating has not been applied, which is typical for applications where basic corrosion resistance is required without special protective coatings.

The design allows for quick installation without additional seals — the polyamide provides the natural flexibility needed for a tight connection.
