Application and functionality

The SKINDICHT® SM-PE-M securing nut has been designed for mounting SKINTOP® and SKINDICHT® cable glands inside enclosures. It is particularly effective for thin-walled, threadless enclosures that allow only a single through-hole.

The primary task of this nut is to provide effective grounding and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Specially designed cutting edges pierce through the insulating layer (varnish, paint, anodized coatings) during tightening, guaranteeing optimal electrical contact with the grounded enclosure.

The product is used in:

• Lacquered and powder-coated enclosures - where standard connections do not provide grounding continuity
• Metal distribution cabinet enclosures coated with insulating layers

Construction and materials

The nut is made of nickel-plated brass, which ensures excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical durability. The hexagonal shape allows for easy installation using a 46mm width wrench.

The design based on the metric thread M40 x 1.5 according to the EN 50262 standard ensures a precise fit. The product is characterized by:
