Locknut SKINDICHT® SM-PE PG 7, Brass 52103200

Securing nut with EMC function for demanding applications

The SKINDICHT® SM-PE PG 7 nut is a professional fastening element designed specifically for use with SKINTOP® and SKINDICHT® cable glands in applications requiring effective electromagnetic shielding. Made of nickel-plated brass, it is a key component of cable routing systems in metal enclosures coated with insulating layers.

Design and materials ensuring durability

The nut body is made of high-quality nickel-plated brass, which guarantees exceptional resistance to corrosion and aggressive chemical environments. The nickel-plated surface not only protects against rusting but also provides excellent electrical conductivity necessary for effective EMI shielding.

The hexagonal shape allows for secure tightening using a standard 15 mm wrench, and the precisely manufactured PG 7 thread with a 1.27 mm pitch guarantees a perfect fit for the appropriate cable glands. The nut thickness of 4.7 mm provides sufficient contact surface while maintaining compact dimensions.

Innovative solution for electromagnetic shielding

A distinguishing feature of this model is the specially shaped cutting edges, which pierce the insulating layer of the enclosure coating (paint, anodizing, or powder coating) during tightening. This solution eliminates the electrical barrier between the nut and the enclosure wall, ensuring optimal EMC contact and effective potential equalization.

This operating mechanism is particularly important in modern industrial installations, where metal device enclosures are often coated with protective layers that hinder the flow of shielding currents. The SM-PE nut solves this problem automatically during assembly.

Wide temperature range and mechanical resistance

The product maintains full functionality in an extreme temperature range from -60°C to +200°C, making it suitable for both refrigeration applications and high-temperature industrial processes. Nickel-plated brass exhibits natural resistance to mechanical impacts and long-term cyclic loads.

According to the manufacturer's declaration, the nut withstands high chemical and mechanical loads, confirming its suitability for demanding industrial environments. The material is also halogen-free, thereby meeting the highest fire safety standards.

Application in modern electrical installations

The nut is primarily intended for internal mounting in unthreaded thin-walled enclosures, where it allows for only one transit hole for the cable gland. It is ideal for control cabinets, switchgear, and operator panels made of steel or aluminum.

Particularly recommended for applications requiring EMC certification and compliance with electromagnetic compatibility standards. Cooperation with SKINTOP® MS-SC or SKINTOP® BRUSH glands allows for the creation of a complete grounding system with the highest shielding effectiveness.

Dimensions, packaging, and compatibility

Standard packaging contains 100 pieces of nuts (catalog code 52103200), which facilitates the planning of larger installation projects. The hexagon diagonal length is 17.3 mm, which determines the dimensions of the mounting hole in the device enclosure.

The PG 7 thread is a standard for European cable routing systems, ensuring full compatibility with a wide range of cable glands available on the European market.
