IP68 PG 21 Plastic Cable Gland

The IP68 PG 21 cable gland is an electrical installation component designed for sealing and routing cables. Made of polyamide (PA), it ensures an IP68 protection rating and impact resistance.

Construction and Materials

The gland body is made of polyamide (PA) - a modern plastic characterized by excellent mechanical and chemical resistance. The material is halogen-free, meaning no toxic gases are released during combustion, significantly increasing the fire safety level of the installation.

The design is based on a PG 21 thread with a pitch of 1.588 mm and a thread length of 60 mm, ensuring secure mounting in installation holes. A wrench size of 59 mm allows for comfortable installation using standard tools.

The clamping part consists of flexible tabs that allow for a solid grip on the cable and very good resistance to pulling. This system eliminates the risk of accidental loosening of the connection during operation or device transport.

The gland is supplied with a locknut, which guarantees a complete mounting set and full sealing of the connection.

Operating Parameters and Protection

The greatest advantage of the product is the IP68 protection class, which provides:

• Dust-tightness - complete protection against dust penetration into the interior of the gland
• Waterproofness - the ability to be submerged in water without risk of damage
• Weather resistance - stable operation in rain, snow, or fog

The operating temperature range from -20°C to +80°C allows the gland to be used in practically all European climates and in applications requiring resistance to extreme thermal conditions.

The gland is suitable for cables with a diameter of 30-38 mm, which covers most standard power cables used in industrial and construction installations.

An additional advantage is the impact resistance, which protects the structure from mechanical damage during installation and operation in environments exposed to vibrations or accidental impacts.

Compliance and Standards

The product meets the requirements of the PN-EN 50 262 standard, which defines standards for electrical installation components protecting against dangerous live parts and external influences.

The grey color according to the RAL 7001 standard ensures an aesthetic appearance and easy matching with most typical electrical installations.

The raw surface finish guarantees the material's natural resistance to aging processes and the action of chemical agents present in industrial environments.

The gland does not have an explosion-proof design or special certificates for gas or dust explosion hazard zones, which should be taken into account when planning installations in such environments.
