Construction and technical parameters
The fuse is manufactured as an ACR ceramic link (Alta Capacità di Rottura - high breaking capacity), which guarantees effective electric arc quenching during the interruption of short-circuit currents. The compact design with a diameter of 10,3 mm and a length of 38 mm allows for installation in standard fuse holders of this type.
The device operates at a rated voltage of 500 Vac and a rated current of 1 A, while simultaneously providing a very high breaking capacity of 100 kA. This parameter guarantees the safe interruption of even very large short-circuit currents, protecting the installation from damage.
Application and compatibility
The aM type fuse link has been specifically designed for the protection of electric motors, where it is necessary to distinguish between inrush current and short-circuit current. Unlike gG type fuses, aM links allow the free flow of motor inrush currents for a specified time, while simultaneously interrupting the circuit immediately in the event of a short circuit.
The product is compatible with supply frequencies in the range of 42-62 Hz, allowing for use in both European systems (50 Hz) and other regions. Thanks to the universal nature of the AC/DC voltage, the link performs well in various industrial applications.
Operating conditions and environment
The fuse maintains full functionality at an operating temperature from -25°C to +40°C, enabling use in both cooled rooms and high-temperature environments. For long-term storage, the product withstands temperatures from -40°C to +70°C.
Power loss at the rated current is only 0,45 W, which minimizes the additional thermal load on the installation. The device does not have an external trip indicator (without striker), which is typical for industrial applications where status is monitored through resistance measurement or other diagnostic methods.
