The GL 40 A fuse cartridge in size 14×51 mm is a ceramic gG type protection designed to protect wiring and electrical devices from the effects of overload and short circuit. Thanks to its universal AC/DC voltage characteristic, it works well in both single-phase and three-phase installations, as well as in DC circuits.

Operating parameters and performance

The device operates at a rated current of 40 A and voltage up to 500 V AC, maintaining full functionality in the frequency range 42-62 Hz. A key feature is the high breaking capacity of 100 kA, making it suitable even for circuits with significant short-circuit currents. The ceramic construction provides excellent thermal and mechanical resistance, and the power loss of only 4 W at rated current minimizes energy losses during normal operation.

Application and compatibility

The gG type fuse is characterized by delayed operation during brief current surges, allowing for trouble-free starting of motors and other devices with higher starting current. At the same time, it ensures quick disconnection during actual overloads or short circuits, protecting the installation from damage. Standard dimensions 14×51 mm allow installation in popular cylindrical holders available on the market.
