FTP Shielded Network Socket Designed for M45 Frame Mounting

This Cat. 5e RJ45 socket with FTP shielding (FTP = Foiled Twisted Pair) is housed in a white plastic enclosure in RAL 9003 color. Its design supports both flush-mounted and floor installation. It features a single IDC knife-edge termination socket – no screws, no need for precise tightening; simply insert the cable and the latch closes automatically. The internal protective insert ensures connection stability, while the text field on the housing allows easy port labeling.

Why This Solution Works in Practice?

• FTP Shielding Protects the Signal – The socket is designed to work with shielded FTP/STP cables. To effectively reduce electromagnetic interference, the cable shield must be properly terminated at the line end – e.g., via a shielded patch panel or switch port.
• M45 Frame Mounting – Perfectly fits standard Legrand M45 installation plates. No special frames or hole modifications required. Simply insert the module and the locking latch engages.
• IP20 Dust Protection – Not suitable for wet areas, but sufficient for homes, offices, or hallways. Protects against accidental contact with conductors and small objects.

What Doesn't Matter? And What Does?

The design does not include a grounding contact – therefore, protection depends entirely on correct shielding termination along the entire cable run. Surface mounting is not possible – the socket requires installation within an M45 frame.
