The Legrand modular stair switch is an electronic device with automatic lighting shut-off after a programmed time, ensuring energy savings and user convenience in common areas such as stairwells, corridors, or basements.

Device dimensions and mounting

The device is designed in a modular standard with a width of one module (17.7 mm), allowing for mounting on a standard DIN rail in electrical distribution boards. The compact design with a height of 94.8 mm and a depth of 74.5 mm allows for efficient use of installation space.

The switch operates at a control voltage of 230V AC with a frequency of 50-60 Hz, powered by 250V AC. The rated making current is 16A, while the maximum making current at a power factor cos φ = 0.6 is 13A. The device is characterized by a repeatable duty cycle and the ability to adjust the trigger delay within a range of 0.5 to 10 minutes, allowing the lighting time to be adapted to the specifics of a particular space.

Connection and load capabilities

The stair switch supports both three-wire and four-wire systems, making it a universal solution for various types of electrical installations. The device is equipped with one make contact and has an inrush current of 50 mA.

The maximum switching capacity varies depending on the load type: for incandescent bulbs it is 2000W, for standard fluorescent lamps 1000VA, with DUO compensation also 1000VA, while with parallel compensation it is only 120VA. This variety of parameters allows for safe operation with different types of light sources used in modern lighting installations.

The product meets the requirements of German VDE standards confirmed by the VDE-40013008 certificate and has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with the LGRP-00679-V01.01-EN.pdf standards.
