Surge arrester T2 PV 1000 VDC 414156
Surge protector for photovoltaic installations
This Type T2 surge protector, designed for photovoltaic installations, provides effective protection for DC circuits with a voltage up to 1000 VDC. It is a key component safeguarding against the effects of surges that could damage sensitive electronics in PV systems. Mounting is performed on a standard TH-35 mm DIN rail, facilitating integration with existing infrastructure.
Construction and application
This surge protector has been specifically designed for photovoltaic installations connected to low-voltage grids – without an energy storage system. It meets the requirements of standards IEC/EN 61643-31 and IEC 60364-7-712, ensuring its reliability and compliance with current regulations. It provides standard and differential protection (Mode Y: protection +/-, +/T, -/T), enhancing the safety of the entire system. Its compact design – occupying 3 modules – allows for easy installation even in crowded distribution boards.
Functionality and key features
- High effectiveness: A nominal discharge current of 40 kA ensures effective protection against sudden voltage spikes.
- Optical indication: An integrated optical indicator signals when the insert needs replacement, facilitating maintenance and ensuring continuous protection.
- Versatility: The ability to connect conductors with a cross-section up to 35 mm² (single/multi-strand) and 25 mm² (flexible) makes it compatible with various types of cabling used in photovoltaic installations.
- Safety: The absence of integrated backup fusing does not affect its operation – Type T2 surge protectors inherently fulfill the protective function against overvoltages.
- Wide voltage range: The maximum continuous operating DC voltage is 1200 V, ensuring reliable operation under various operating conditions.
- Mounting flexibility: Suitable for use in various network configurations (including those other than TN, TT, or IT) thanks to the designation "Other network configuration: yes".
- Compact dimensions: Three modules allow for efficient use of space in distribution cabinets.
