Surge arrester T2 PV 600 VDC 414155
Protection of Photovoltaic Installations – Reliability and Safety
The T2 PV 600 VDC surge arrester is a key component for protecting photovoltaic installations against the effects of overvoltages that could damage sensitive components. The device is intended for protection of DC circuits in PV systems connected to low-voltage networks, without the use of energy storage. Its mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail ensures easy installation and integration with existing infrastructure.
This surge arrester meets the requirements of standards IEC/EN 61643-31 and IEC 60364-7-712, guaranteeing its effectiveness and compliance with applicable standards. It provides standard and differential protection (Mode Y: protection +/-, +/T, -/T), minimizing the risk of failures and system downtime.
Construction and Functionality
The device occupies 3 modules on a DIN rail, allowing for compact placement within a distribution board. It features optical indication of activation, signaling the need for cartridge replacement. The maximum conductor cross-section it can accommodate is 35 mm² for stranded conductors and 25 mm² for flexible conductors.
A nominal discharge current of 40 kA (8/20) and a protection level of 4 kV ensure effective protection against sudden voltage surges. The maximum continuous operating DC voltage is 720 V, making it suitable for a wide range of photovoltaic installations. IP20 class provides basic protection against contact and external disturbances.
- The device construction does not include integrated backup fusing, allowing flexible adaptation to specific installation requirements.
- The absence of a remote signaling contact means there is no possibility of remote monitoring of the arrester status – information regarding the need for cartridge replacement is available only locally via optical indication.
- The arrester is designed for use with various network configurations – including non-standard ones, which increases its versatility.
- Replaceable cartridges with status indicators facilitate maintenance and quick identification of components requiring replacement. A red indicator signals the need for cartridge replacement.
