Professional rail connector for electrical installations

The Viking 3 connector is a high-quality electrical installation component designed for the reliable connection of two copper conductors in switchgear and electrical panels. Thanks to its robust construction and certified Ex-e explosionproof design, it is suitable for both domestic and industrial installations.

Construction and materials

The insulating body is made of thermoplastic material with a flammability rating of V2 according to UL94, ensuring adequate resistance to high temperatures and self-extinguishing properties in case of ignition. The ergonomic shape of the wire entries facilitates correct insertion into the terminals.

The connector features screw connections that allow for secure wire fastening without the need for specialized tools. The screw system guarantees a durable electrical connection resistant to vibrations and temperature changes.

The compact design with dimensions of 10 × 46,5 × 52,5 mm allows for dense packing in switchgear. The pitch width is a standard 10 mm, enabling mounting on TH-35 mm DIN rails and perfect fit within modular systems.

Electrical parameters and operating range

The device operates at a rated voltage of 800 V and a current of 57 A, making it suitable for most low-voltage installations. The operating temperature range is from -5°C to +40°C, allowing for installation in both heated and cooler rooms.

The connector supports various types of conductors:

• Single-core conductors with a cross-section of 1,5-16 mm²
• Flexible conductors without ferrules 1,5-16 mm²
• Flexible conductors with ferrules 2,5-10 mm²
• Multi-core conductors 2,5-10 mm²

The single-level design contains 2 terminals per level, allowing for the connection of two conductors in an in-out configuration.

Application and compatibility

The product requires the mandatory use of a closing plate (end cover), which provides additional protection against accidental contact with live parts and maintains the aesthetics of the installation.

Due to its certified Ex-e explosionproof design, the connector can be used in environments at risk of gas or flammable vapor explosions. The blue color according to color coding standards indicates its use for neutral conductors.

Mounting is possible on three types of symmetrical rails: EN 60715 with a depth of 7,5 mm and a depth of 15 mm. The end plate holds the blocks together, facilitating manipulation during installation while maintaining the possibility of individual disassembly without the need to remove adjacent elements.

The system is compatible with all elements of the Viking 3 family and accessories such as peigne equipotentielle (equipotential combs) for automatically creating equipotential connections between multiple blocks.
