KNX IP Router – Integration and Communication in the KNX System

The KSR-01IP device is an advanced IP router designed for KNX home and building automation systems. It is a key element connecting the traditional KNX TP installation with modern IP network infrastructure, enabling remote access, monitoring and control of the system. Thanks to it, integration with other systems becomes simpler and more efficient.

The KSR-01IP router acts as a gateway between the KNX TP (Twisted Pair) bus and the Ethernet/IP network, providing two-way communication. It allows for addressing, parameterization and diagnostics of the KNX system via the local network, which significantly facilitates the installation and service process. It can function as both a KNX line router and an KNX area router, offering flexibility in network design and configuration.

• Built-in Web Page: Enables easy configuration and monitoring of the device using a web browser.
• Support for Extended Frames and Long Telegrams: Compatibility with new communication standards in KNX systems (up to 240 bytes APDU).
• Telegram Repetition Function: In the event of no acknowledgment of receipt, the device automatically repeats the transmission (configurable in ETS).
• Firmware Update: Possibility of updating the software via the built-in web interface.

Construction and Installation

KSR-01IP is characterized by a compact design mounted on a DIN rail (2 modules - 36mm). Simple installation process – just connect the device to the KNX TP bus and to the Ethernet network using a standard network cable. LEDs on the housing indicate the operating status of the device and any communication errors. The device is compliant with UPnP standards and supports protocols such as ARP, ICMP, IGMP, HTTP, UDP/IP, TCP/IP and DHCP/AutoIP, which facilitates integration with existing network infrastructure. Configuration is done using ETS (Engineering Tool Software) or via the web interface.
