Flexible Copper Busbar with PVC Insulation – Compact and Efficient
The MOFLEX busbar with a cross-section of 21.6 mm² is a solution designed for installations where space and efficiency are critical. Made from electrolytic copper Cu-ETP with 99.90% purity, it provides stable conductivity without additional losses, even under long-term load. Its cross-section is 25% smaller than that of traditional flexible busbars, meaning it occupies less space in switchboards while maintaining a high current-carrying capacity of 136 A.
The insulation, made of self-extinguishing black PVC compliant with UL 94 V-0, not only protects against short circuits and overvoltages but is also resistant to mechanical damage during installation. With a tensile strength exceeding 15 N/mm² and an elongation capability of over 200%, it allows for easy adaptation to irregular shapes—ideal for installation in tight spaces or when complex bends are required without additional connectors.
It operates stably across a wide temperature range—from -40°C to 105°C—making it suitable for both industrial installations in cold rooms and for heat-generating equipment. The insulation has a dielectric strength above 20 kV/mm, and the rated voltage is 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC, sufficient for most DC and AC systems in construction and automation.
Its dimensions (9x0.8x3 mm) and 2-meter length make it easy to transport and install—no cutting or welding is required. Compared to a standard copper cable of the same cross-section, the skin effect is reduced by over 60%, minimizing losses in alternating current applications. This results not only in energy savings but also in reduced heating of connections.
