MSCL150 screw connector for 12 kV applications

The MSCL150 screw connector is a cable connector designed for joining aluminum and copper conductors in applications with voltages up to 12 kV. It utilizes shear bolt technology, which allows for installation using a standard socket wrench, eliminating the need for specialized hydraulic tools.

Aluminum alloy body and shear bolts

The connector body is made of an aluminum alloy subjected to a tinning process. This design ensures full compatibility with both aluminum and copper conductors, eliminating galvanic issues. Two M16 aluminum bolts are coated with a special anti-oxidant grease, which lubricates the contact surfaces and prevents oxidation at the electrical connection points.

The bolts are designed so that shearing occurs at the optimal torque, guaranteeing the best electrical and mechanical connection. This precise calibration eliminates the risk of under-tightening or over-tightening the connection.

Operating parameters and compatibility

The connector supports aluminum conductors with cross-sections of 25-150 mm² and copper conductors of 25-120 mm², making it a universal solution for most medium voltage applications. The compact design with dimensions of 28×70×40 mm requires minimal installation space, which is particularly important for larger conductor cross-sections.

The product is fully waterproof and suitable for installation both indoors and outdoors. It works well with various types of conductors: solid, flexible (stranded), sector, and round with plastic or oil-impregnated paper insulation.

Certification and safety

The connector features an oil-tight central barrier and meets the requirements of the EN 61238-1 class A standard, confirming its high quality and reliability in demanding operating conditions. Class A indicates suitability for electrical and industrial installations where high-intensity and long-duration short circuits may occur.

The product is compatible with most termination kits from many manufacturers and has the CN8 code 85359000, facilitating customs classification.
