MSCL50 Al/Cu 10-50mm² 12kV screw connector, 2x aluminum break-off bolt MSCL0502A00
Screw connector for connecting Al/Cu conductors up to 12 kV
The MSCL0502A00 screw connector is designed for connecting aluminum and copper conductors in applications with voltages up to 12 kV. It utilizes shear bolt technology, which enables rapid installation using a standard socket wrench, eliminating the need for specialized crimping tools.
Construction and materials
The connector body is made of a special high-strength aluminum alloy that has undergone a tinning process. This surface treatment ensures excellent compatibility with both aluminum and copper conductors and protects against corrosion in harsh operating conditions.
The use of two M10 hex socket aluminum bolts allows for an even distribution of clamping forces during installation. Each bolt is coated with a special antioxidant grease, which not only lubricates the tightening mechanism but, most importantly, eliminates the oxidation process at the electrical contact points.
Versatility and compatibility
The product supports a wide range of conductor cross-sections from 10 to 50 mm² in various configurations:
- Aluminum conductors: RE (10-50 mm²), RM (10-50 mm²), SE (16-50 mm²), SM (16-35 mm²)
- Copper conductors: RE (16-35 mm²), RM (16-50 mm²), SM (16-50 mm²)
Operating parameters and safety
The device is characterized by oil resistance and the presence of a central partition, making it resistant to transformer oils and other media found in power installations. The connector is fully waterproof and can be installed both indoors and outdoors.
Dimensions are 18×37×28 mm with a weight of 26 grams.
Compliance and certificates
The connector has been tested and certified according to the IEC61238-1 Class A standard, confirming its high quality and reliability in demanding operating conditions. Class A indicates suitability for electrical and industrial installations where high-intensity and long-duration short circuits may occur.
